A little bit about who we are and what we do…
NEXT is an online and mail-based harm reduction program. We believe everyone should have access to the tools they need to keep themselves safe and well. We have big dreams for how to build out an online hub for drug user health support. For now, we’re making sure folks who use drugs have free, sterile syringes, naloxone, sharps containers, and safer injection supplies.
If you are a person who uses drugs and you have difficulty accessing syringes where you live, you can fill out the enrollment form below and we’ll work to get you supplies. If you live within the catchment area of another syringe exchange program, we’ll first check to make sure you aren’t aware of in-person opportunities.
Please note, NEXT does not operate in New York City or in locations where there is a pre-existing syringe service program.
If you have family or friends who you think should have naloxone on hand, please refer them to nextdistro.org/naloxone. And yes, we gladly take donations.
What we provide
NEXT mails all the supplies you would be able to access at an in-person syringe exchange program. This includes sterile syringes, naloxone, sharps containers, alcohol pads, cottons, fentanyl test strips, condoms, and more. Once you’ve completed a (1) application form and (2) contact form, we’ll reach out to confirm mailing information and from there will send you a list of the supplies we have available.
NEXT has changed our enrollment process DUE TO A MASSIVE INCREASE IN ENROLLMENT REQUESTS
Please read through this information carefully. NEXT has shifted to an enrollment application process.
1. Our enrollment application asks sensitive health questions. Please do not put your name or any identifying information on this application. You will be asked to choose a “handle” / username that we will use to anonymously match you with your application. This is to ensure your name is never paired with any answers you provide.
2. After you complete the enrollment application by clicking “Submit” you will be asked to submit your handle and contact information to a separate url (see image below button). This will go into a separate, secure database. If you do not submit your contact information, we will not know how to reach you.
We do highly recommend downloading the free, encrypted messaging app Signal on your phone to communicate with us. Protonmail email is also an excellent and free encrypted email option.
